White Marble Kitchen Worktops

Marble is a natural rock formed due to metamorphosis of calcium carbonate or limestone and is generally found on the earth’s crust. It’s pretty useful as a building material such as kitchen worktops (or countertops), floor tiles, decorative slabs, etc.

The natural rocks spread across the tectonic plates of the earth. Italy tops the table with the highest production of white marble.

Types of White Marble Countertops:

By and large, the white marble has three luxurious varieties – Calacatta, Carrara and Statuario.

1. To a layman, all these premium stones look alike. We won’t see any difference between them. For all these marbles sport the white background. But, Carrara white marble has a bit white-greyish colour combination with apparent linear veins.

2. On the other hand, Calacatta marble is whiter than Carrara and showcases striking, thick veins in a golden or brown hue.

3. Coming to Statuario marble, the only thing that differs from Calacatta is the hue of veins. They change from golden to greyish. Of all three varieties of white marble, this one is the most expensive and is also quarried in Italy.
